GO was head contractor for this design and construct contract for Water Corporation’s Albany wastewater treatment plant. The work included:
- Detailed design and drafting, including Virtual Reality modelling
- Earthworks
- Inlet rising main and tie in to the existing main
- Concrete structures
- New inlet works including band screens and grit removal system
- Upgrade of the IDEA plant with a new bio-selector and aeration system
- New sludge plan including thickeners and dewatering
- Odour control plant
- Electrical, instrumentation and control systems
GO identified a number of innovative changes during the detailed design, including switchboards that avoided the need for temporary power arrangements during change over.
