About Us:
Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.

About the Role:
We are currently seeking expressions of interest to work for GO as a Construction Manager. 

Working with the Project Managers, in-house Design Team, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and Trades staff; the Construction Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of projects from concept to handover in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner; with a quality focus and adherence to company policy, customer expectations and project specifications.

The Construction Manager may lead their own projects or report to a Project Manager as a key resource on larger projects.

More specifically you will:

  • Deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner 
  • Deliver the best quality projects  
  • Deliver projects in a timely manner  
  • Ensure that all project documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner  
  • Deliver projects profitably
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with all relevant stakeholders
  • Work with the Design Manager to ensure that designs are completed in accordance with Project Requirements and the Construction Program  
  • Procure equipment and subcontract resources at competitive prices to meet requirements
  • Effectively manage labour and subcontract resources

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Have extensive experience in a similar role in construction, preferable the water industry
  • Have solid construction industry knowledge
  • Have an ability to effectively lead and manage teams of people coupled with an ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Be self-motivated with strong communication skills
  • Have well-developed problem-solving skills 
  • Have a strong safety and quality focus
  • Have an ability to influence others while making sound decisions
