Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Coordinator (HSEQ) - WA - Onslow

Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Coordinator for a FIFO / DIDO project support role basedin Onslow, WA.  You will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of site HSEQ. These include all management systems, plans, procedures, and programs are implemented to support the business in meeting its legal obligations, client requirements and overall goal for safety, sustainability, environment, quality, risk, and governance excellence.

More specifically you will:

  • Maintain a positive culture of Health, Safety Environment, Wellbeing and Quality throughout the business and project
  • Support the maintenance of the accreditation to HSEQ management systems
  • Drive HSEQ improvements on the project site
  • Support a safe workplace for all site personnel
  • Maintain close working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensure workers and subcontractors are meeting the minimum requirements of Guidera O’Connor’s HSEQ requirements on site
  • Regularly monitor and review works for HSEQ compliance on the project
  • Conduct HSEQ investigations where required.

As our ideal candidate you will have: 

  • Solid experience in HSEQ within the construction or water industry
  • A minimum of a Cert IV in WHS or equivalent
  • Whilst Marine environment management experience is desired, it is not essential
  • Computer literatacy with experience in using HSEQ software
  • Experience as an Internal HSEQ Auditor
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator experiencee
  • ICAM investigation experience
  • The qualification HLTAID011 Provide first aid
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
  • An ability to effectively lead and influence teams of people
  • Be self-driven and an excellent problem solver
