Construction Manager - WA - Perth

About Us:
Established in 2001, Guidera O'Connor is a privately owned and respected Design and Construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering Water and Wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.

About the Role:
As part of our growth, we seek a Construction Manager. This is a permanent, full-time role, based on site at various locations around WA. This role is a combination of office and site-based activities with travel to regional areas in WA. 

Working with the Project Managers, in-house Design Team, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors and Trades staff; the Construction Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of projects from concept to handover in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner; with a quality focus and adherence to company policy, customer expectations and project specifications.
The Construction Manager may lead their own projects or report to a Project Manager as a key resource on larger projects.

As our ideal candidate, you will:

  • Have extensive experience in a similar role in construction, preferable the water industry
  • Have solid construction industry knowledge
  • Hold a Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor qualification
  • Have a Diploma in Project or Construction Management
  • Have a Senior First Aid Certificate and a White Card – General Construction Industry Training Card
  • Have an ability to effectively lead and manage teams of people coupled with an ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Be Self-motivated with strong communication skills
  • Have well-developed problem-solving skills 
  • Have a strong safety and quality focus
  • Have an ability to influence others while making sound decisions
