Senior Design Drafter - SA Thebarton OR WA Bibra Lake

Established in 2001, Guidera O’Connor (GO) is a privately owned and respected design and construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering water and wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water, Water Corporation, Sydney Water and SEQ Water.  

Our Opportunity: 

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Design Drafter to join our team based either in Thebarton, SA or Bibra Lake, WA. As the Senior Design Drafter, you will be responsible for carrying out design drafting and activities and ensuring that ensuring that all design, drafting, and close-out documentation is carried out accurately, cost effectively and in a timely manner to meet project requirements.  

As a Senior Design Drafter at GO you will also: 

  • Lead the modelling of 3D treatment process plants, delivering accurate, constructible, and safe designs that adhere to Australian Standards, client requirements, and GO company design standards. 
  • Collaborate closely with GO Engineers to build master drawing registers, facilitating project documentation from concept to IFC, ensuring compliance with project scope, specifications, and quality, safety, and environmental standards. 
  • Take charge of integrating various design components into a single, cohesive integrated model, potentially including subcontractor and internal designer(s) components using real-world coordinates. 
  • Generate comprehensive 2D drawing sets from 3D models, incorporating all necessary annotations and details to produce construction documentation. 
  • Understand durations to complete tasks and report back on progress to complete. 
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with GO engineers and other.  

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Hands on design experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, concise, and precise documentation, including P&ID, PFD, mechanical, and civil drawing sets. 
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel. 
  • Advanced/Expert-level skills in drafting software, particularly AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor. Additionally, proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D will be highly valued for this role. 
  • Proven capability to manage competing priorities effectively, meeting project deadlines.
