About Us: 

Established in 2001, Guidera O’Connor (GO) is a privately owned and respected design and construct contractor and have a successful track record delivering water and wastewater treatment projects to the Australian Water Industry. Our clients include SA Water and Water Corporation.  

Our Opportunity: 

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Estimating Manager to join the GO Team. This role will suit a highly motivated individual with a background in estimation leadership, project management or engineering gained within the construction industry.  

More specifically you will be responsible for: 

• Work with the team to forecast the future business needs for estimating resources 
• Develop and manage a team of estimators that can deliver accurate cost estimates for bid submissions 
• Ensure target outcome costing and cost plans are developed in accordance with company procedures and our client’s process 
• Confirm award letter alignment to final submission, engage the team for setup of project cost codes and then handover to GO teams 
• Where necessary, assist Project Managers in the development of early budget estimates for EOI submissions 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• Solid experience in estimating leadership within construction, preferably the water industry. 
• Formal engineering or construction qualifications. 
• Well-developed communication skills coupled with strong problem solving and influencing skills. 
• Attention to detail, an ability to meet strict deadlines and strong numeracy skills.
