The role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven professional to lead the delivery of complex water infrastructure projects across regional Victoria. You will oversee all aspects of projects, from planning, through design, delivery, and completion, achieving exceptional outcomes for our customers and their communities.
Primarily, you will support the business needs by effectively leading, managing, planning, and overseeing project-based operations and activities. Your aptitude, knowledge, and abilities in relevant industry practices, legislation, and standards for safe, compliant, and effective project delivery are crucial. Additionally, your ability to influence, coach, critically assess, and anticipate issues ahead of occurrence is of utmost importance. In addition to directly managing a portfolio of projects, or a single large project, this role will also support tender development in the Victorian region.
Your performance will be evaluated based on the successful delivery of assigned projects or programs of work, demonstrating excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial and technical expertise.
More specifically you will:
- Deliver projects in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Deliver best quality projects in a timely manner.
- Deliver projects profitably.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Work with the Design Manager to ensure that designs are completed in accordance with Project Requirements and the Construction Program.
- Procure equipment and subcontract resources at competitive prices while also effectively managing labour and subcontract resources.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Bring a minimum of 10 years project management experience, with the ability to demonstrate experience of managing capital works projects in excess of $30M.
- Have experience managing relationship-based contracts, and incentivised target cost contracts, in addition to fixed price D&C type contracts.
- Be willing to travel as work may include regional projects.
- Have a strong background in Water and Wastewater infrastructure.

- Prepare comprehensive budgets and provide accurate monthly cost forecasts, ensuring financial control.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction risks and opportunities and implement timely mitigation strategies.
- Possess strong knowledge of contractual obligations and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Adhere to all relevant legal, corporate, and procedural HSEQ requirements.
- Collaborate effectively across functions and promote a win-win approach to teamwork and conflict resolution.
